The Bridges of Madison county
“The Bridges of Madison County” tells about the brief but intense romance between the housemother Francesca (Lone van Roosendaal) and the itinerant photographer Robert (René van Kooten). It turns their world completely upside down.
The Italian Francesca ended up in rural America in Madison County through her marriage, where she leads an unexciting life. She met Robert by accident and was faced with a difficult choice: go with the man of her dreams or choose for her family.
The musical is based on the movie of the same name starring Clint Eastwood and Meryl Streep. Jason Robert Brown’s Tony Award-winning music is a heartwarming combination of Francesca’s elegant Italian folk music and Robert’s American country. The Daily News called it “one of Broadways best scores in the last decade”.
